Sequinned Legs

I know, I know I have too many sequins (see here and here!), but when I saw that the (almost cult) H&M sequin leggings were back this year I had to get my hands on them! They come in navy, black and gold (£29.99). I went for black as I thought that would give me the most wear!

IMG_8319

Oh my goodness, they are so flattering and easy to wear considering! I have paired them first with a very simple black top and heels – I think very chic!

IMG_8325

Oh look how gorgeous they are close up!!

IMG_8336

Next I amped up the sequins even further by adding this beautiful silk and sequin blouse from TK Maxx.

IMG_8358

Actually really love this combination!

IMG_8374

New Year’s eve outfit anyone??

Party Skin

IMG_8308

I picked up this Naked Skin Body Balm from Urban Decay a while ago (Sephora in Malaysia) and every time I am going to a party I whip this out. It gives my skin a gorgeous golden shimmery glow. Its not too sparkly and is more like a beautiful highlighter for your body.

IMG_8654

As you can see its like a body cream, that’s golden coloured. It absorbs really easily and doesn’t stain my clothes.

IMG_8656

You can just about see the highlighter effect – in real life its very pretty – especially on the décolletage and legs!

Silk and Sequins

I found this gorgeous top in TK Maxx and I absolutely love it! I have worn it so much already it was well worth the £16.99! I know with TK Maxx it means that you can’t find the same top – but I would suggest having a good root around that place – its a treasure trove!!

IMG_8593

I know that I will be wearing this loads over the next few weeks – either dressed up like here with a cute skirt or dressed down with jeans.

Christmas to New Year Nails

I popped into Superdrug on Saturday for some last minute makeup for the festive period and a lovely lady came over and asked if I wanted to have my nails done in store with gel polish all for £15! I of course said yes! Less than a week before Christmas and I had completely forgotten to book myself in to get my nails done and to be honest decided I was never going to get an appointment this late so gave up! Well this was just serendipity!

I decided to go for this very festive sparkly gold. As it is a gel polish it should last for at least two weeks if not more taking me safely past New Year’s Eve – perfect!

IMG_8644

It catches the light beautifully.

IMG_8311

So I am all ready for Christmas and New Year!

Spoilt for Choice!

I thought I would pull together all my possible festive season outfits from previous posts and came up with quite a selection! Some are very recent and others are a good few years old but I still love them all and could see myself wearing any of them this year – a good sign!!

First is my recent purchase – Dorothy Perkins skirt.

IMG_7561

And my new H&M lace slip dress.

IMG_7596

Also very recent – two sequinned numbers from Asos.

Velvet Trend

Velvet is back. Suddenly everywhere you look is velvet! I do love a bit of velvet and have found two dresses in the sales that tick my boxes.

The first is a devore dress from Phase Eight (£65 reduced from £139). This is more daytime but can definitely also be worn at night. I love the simple waist and slightly batwing sleeves. The material is beautiful and drapes so well.

IMG_7482

The second is a bit of statement dress so not quite as versatile but beautiful nonetheless. I apologise but its so hard to get a good picture of this dress but it is simply classic and elegant. This is from M&S (£39.50 reduced from £79).

IMG_7470

The velvet is thick and luxurious and I love the simple v neck and tie waist. The leg splits could be higher(!) but give the dress a good shape. I think this looks far more expensive than something off the high street should!

Shimmer and Lace

I wasn’t looking for any more party wear – I don’t even have enough parties as it is! But, when I saw this skirt in Dorothy Perkins (£38) I couldn’t leave it behind.

IMG_7536

It reminds me of the gorgeous but ridiculously expensive LK Bennett skirts (normally about £250). Normally full skirts like this don’t suit me but because the material is soften and drapes more than standing out stiffly I can get away with it – I think!

IMG_7564

I paired this with a simple camisole top (its actually a full slip see here). I think I am just going to have to wear this on Christmas Eve and enjoy the excuse to have any excuse to dress up!

The Night Dress

I know it’s a bit risqué but I absolutely love silk and lace camisoles and slips as part of my everyday attire. This could well be my new years eve outfit..

This lovely lavender slip is from H&M (£19.99). I think the colour is so different and works well with my sequin shrug to make this acceptable evening wear i.e. a night dress!

IMG_7581

IMG_7587

The lace on the top gives a lovely frame to the neck and the lace panel on the bottom is nice and wide so makes this look less like a lingerie.

IMG_7593

IMG_7596

I think with the right accessories this is something you could wear out at night without looking crazy!

Sheer Glow

Nars Sheerglow (£31) – two words I have heard so often on beauty YouTube videos. I finally took the plunge and got myself matched (I am Macao and it’s a perfect match)! First off sheerglow is literally the only name this foundation could have – I don’t think I have ever fallen in love with a foundation so fast or hard!! This stuff is magic for your skin!

IMG_7641

I don’t have problem skin so I don’t need lots of coverage, instead I want to create a flawless base look without looking like I am wearing a mask. I want my real skin to show through but look better than my real skin! Well that is exactly what this foundation does. I use one pump on the back of my hand and use my Zoeva brush to work it all over my face. Then I’m done. I don’t use concealer or powder, I just get on with the rest of my makeup.

IMG_7672

I do powder throughout the day but not much – maybe once or twice. When I come home in the evenings (10 hours after I first applied this) my face still looks fresh and glowing!

IMG_7669

IMG_7668

I don’t know if I will ever get tired of this foundation, all my other foundations are feeling neglected and rejected..but they will be staying that way for a while I think as this is the perfect foundation to wear over the coming weeks of Christmas parties!
