OGX Kukui Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

I have been curious about the OGX shampoo and conditioner range for a while now and finally decided to give it a go. I went for the Kukui Oil range as it promised to get rid of frizz, hydrate dry hair and give you a good hair day everyday!

OGX shampoos are sulphate free which I don’t specifically look for but have to say makes me feel better!

The shampoo is quite thick and luxurious and while it definitely cleans your hair it also leaves it soft and almost conditioned. The conditioner is very creamy and easily detangles my long dry hair. I normally try and leave the conditioner on for about 3-5 mins, but sometimes less! Both of them smell lovely which is of course important.

I have found that the two products really do make my hair feel really really soft and healthy and this feeling lasts longer than usual (i.e. more than four days!).

I am now of course dying to try more from the range (there are loads of different ones). The one that I am desperate to try next is the Tea Tree Mint one as it smells so fresh and minty but is also meant to be hydrating – perfect!

Zara Spring Greens!

Spring is in the air and I love this spring jacket from Zara in bright green and white (59.99). Its a semi light weight jacket with three quarter sleeves, pockets and a single button fastening.

I love the shape and colours – fresh and pretty for spring!

Everyday Makeup for Darker Skin

This is a simple go to face for everyday. I like the glowy look, with little eye makeup and a very sheer lip.

For my base I use the Chanel Soleil Tan (see my post here) along with the Maybelline Eraser Eye concealer in shade 2. I then used the Tarte Amazonian Clay12 hour blush in Charisma on my cheeks followed by the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light (see here) to set everything.

On my eyes I used a NYX Cosmetics Blush as an eyeshadow (shade Taupe) followed by the Tarte eyelash curlers and the Fairydrops Scandal Queen mascara.

Finally I applied MAC Mineralize Skingfinish in Soft and Gentle (see here) as a highlighter over my cheekbones and down my nose and the Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya.

Oribe Dry Texturising Spray

I finally gave in to the hype and got my hands on the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray. I only went for the small can (£19) but already know that I will be investing in the full size version (£38) very soon!

This stuff is magic in spray. My hair can go for a full 4 days without a wash and still look ok with no greasiness. What does happen though is it starts to lose all shape or volume and just sits flat. This spray sorts that out. I have never been more impressed with a hair spray in my life! I recently did a post on the Colab Dry Shampoo and the Charles Worthington Texturising Spray – I thought they were good until I tried this! No offence to those products but this is in a different league (so it should be given the price!).

I know I am not explaining what it does very well because its hard to explain! It just gives my hair va va voom!! Texture, volume, hold.

Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash

I had a moment of weakness in Space NK and got myself this hand wash by Aesop. Its the Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash and it is £27.

I know that is a lot of money to spend on a hand wash but for some reason I really wanted it! It smells incredible – the mix of mandarin, rosemary and cedar is fresh yet spicy. A little goes a long way so I am hoping this will last me a while. When its finished I will cheat and fill it with something cheaper – maybe Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap in Rose or Eucalyptus!

Ombre Update

I wanted to freshen up my ombre just a bit so I got the new L’Oreal Professional Feria Extreme Blonde Ombre in E01 (£6.49).

As my hair is naturally a very dark brown I needed something intense to give me the lightening effect I wanted without too much brassiness!

So I did as instructed and left the mix on my hair for about 35 minutes in total.

I have to say I am super pleased with the final effect. My lighter sections became almost honey blonde and the rest more light brown than reddy brown, perfect for the coming warmer months!
