Essence Cosmetics – New Discovery

I first saw this brand when I was in Alicante on holiday and then recently saw it in a local Superdrug. Its a cosmetics brand called Essence and I think its an EU brand that very very reasonably priced! I picked up a mascara the first time round – the I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara (right below £2.80). I did quite like this, for the price I was impressed.

The next time I decided to get the Lash Princess False Lash Mascara (£3.30). Now this is an amazing mascara, it makes my lashes long and thick and just fab! I love this mascara and have been wearing it for weeks.

Check out this brand – I think its a well kept secret and am definitely going to try some other products from the range!

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash

I wanted an exfoliating face wash to use in the mornings that didn’t have harsh beads but instead uses natural ingredients – thats exactly what Elemis‘ Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash does (£29.50), previously called the Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash.

IMG_9756

According to the website “Revolutionary Patented Tri-Enzyme technology acts as the catalyst in this innovative formulation for safe and effective resurfacing within the skin’s upper layers. Galactoarabinan, a Polysaccharide from the Larch Tree, enhances the non-abrasive exfoliation process, whilst Brazilian Babassu Oil, rich in fatty acids, replenishes moisture levels.”

I have really enjoyed using this. It feels creamy and soft on the skin and doesn’t leave my face feeling tight or dry. I only use this in the mornings (not every morning) or if my skin is behaving badly and needs extra care and I find that works well for me. It doesn’t lather too much as you can see but I don’t like soapy face washes!

I think Elemis is one of those brands that can be overlooked or forgotten – their products are full of natural ingredients which I like and look for more and more these days. It isn’t the cheapest brand but I think you get what you pay for in skincare.

Lip Saviours by Clarins

I have been meaning to get the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Honey (£18) for a while now but every time I remembered they were out of stock. Well I finally got my hands on it and while I was there I decided to pick up the Instant Light Lip Perfecting Base (£18) as I heard it was perfect for wearing under matte lipsticks to help prevent drying.

I love both these products. The lip oil is lovely and moisturising, and works really well on its own as a natural lip gloss. Its not thick or sticky and doesn’t have a strong smell.

IMG_9309

The lip base works exactly like I wanted it to, as a balm before you apply  a matte lipstick. It makes my lips feel smooth and hydrated and ready for the lipstick and I think helps to make my lipstick last even longer.

Overall super pleased with these two products.

Investment Purchase Part 2 – The All Saints Leather Jacket

As I mentioned in previous posts I went to Bicester Village to get a belated Christmas present from my husband and ended up in All Saints trying on leather jackets. I do this quite often but they never really suit me as I think most are too short for my body shape. This time however I found this one – the Ryder Biker – a longer length black jacket with silver hardware. It was reduced to £175 from £280. I had to get it.

IMG_9670

I got a size 10 which I think was because of the style, I would say that I would normally be a 12 or even a 14.

IMG_9666

This jacket goes with everything and so it should, thats the whole point! I absolutely adore it!

A leather jacket is a classic wardrobe staple and a definite investment buy. The leather should get better and better with age and hopefully this jacket should last me as long as I can get away with wearing a leather jacket!!

Investment Purchase Part 1 – The Burberry Trench

Yes I am the very proud owner of a Burberry Trench! This was a Christmas present from my husband (I got it at Bicester Village). I got the Kensington Extra-Long Heritage Trench in Stone and I will tell you that it was £906. HOWEVER, that is pretty good considering this is the classic trench that they always sell and is normally £1495.

This was no impulse purchase, my husband wanted to get me something that was classic and would last forever and I would remember! This is certainly that.

IMG_9709

This is such a beautiful classic coat, that fits me perfectly. I got a size 12. I absolutely love the colour and shape and think the longer length works really well for me.

It looks so amazing all buttoned up too.

I recently went to Bicester Village to kill my credit card and found this lovely peach one there for the bargain price of £15.20 (it was reduced and then reduced again!). I honestly don’t know how much they normally are!

I love this colour for spring and summer and thought it went so well with the dusky pinks I am loving at the moment!

Pink Draping @ COS

IMG_9615

I never fail to find a piece in COS that just makes me very very happy. I am in a dusky pink phase and when I saw this Asymmetric Silk Drape top (£59) I knew it was coming home with me.

IMG_9612

IMG_9609

I absolutely love the draped effect, it is so flattering and unique. I think this top works best with skinny ripped jeans and heels.

IMG_9608

Simple and chic but not boring!

All That Glows

I love a good highlighter and this one from Makeup Revolution is amazing. This is the Radiant Light highlighter in Glow (£5).

IMG_9003

This highlighter is soft and buttery and just goes on so well.

IMG_8849

I use this on my cheekbones, brow bone, bridge of my nose, cupids bow…everywhere!

IMG_8858

As you can see it is visible but I also think subtle and just dewy.

Another amazing product from this brand.

Gold Lame Anyone?!

IMG_9903

No this is not an April Fools day joke….I know that a gold lame skirt probably strikes fear in your heart – well fear not! This lovely midi skirt is from M&S (£39.50) and I think its rather gorgeous!

IMG_9910

I think what I like about this skirt is that its not too flared, and hangs quite straight even though it is pleated. For me that makes it much more wearable and flattering.

IMG_9912

With midi skirts, heels always seems to work better, but I have to say that I love this with my Clarks silver flats. There’s something quite retro about the whole look.
