Rings for every finger

I found this amazing shop on Etsy called LETTERSEARRING that sells these delicate rings, beautifully made. I couldn’t resist getting a few – one for every finger and a few extra!

IMG_6221

They are all gold plated and cost between £3.50 – £15 each. The shop sells loads of rings (including knuckle or midi rings) and also earrings and bracelets. The delivery was quite fast (about 2 weeks). I haven’t taken them off since I got them! I especially love the lips and the evil eye!

L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Mist

Before I start I am a total and utter L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Hair Oil addict! I have written about it several times, I have been through at least 10 bottles of the stuff – it is AMAZING stuff. So when I popped into Boots and spotted the NEW version of this oil and in a SPRAY (not pump) I was (sadly) very very excited and of course bought a bottle instantly (£9.99).

IMG_6176

Only when I got home did I realise that this is meant for fine hair. I do not have fine hair by any stretch of the imagination. Regardless I decided to plough on and try it out. And oh my it is just divine. This is beautifully scented – a sort of delicate floral (lotus flower supposedly). The mist is so fine yet really left my hair soft and shiny and not at all greasy. I have also repeatedly sprayed my hair throughout the day and for 2 days in a row without any hint of greasiness! I have to say that this really delivered even on my crazy thick hair! I am newly obsessed..!

New Look – Festival Fashion

I went a bit mad in New Look before the Isle of Wight festival this year. I got quite a few bits of jewellery from there and some clothes too! So I will just get straight to it!

First up is this amazing brass cuff. I JUST LOVE this! Its was £5.99 and I think it’s more than worth every penny!

IMG_6091

Next is this gold necklace for £9.99. It has a really wow factor to it that I love. It really makes a statement out of any simple t-shirt!

IMG_6097

Another necklace, this one is more neon Aztec! Again I love the simple yet effective design of this – another bargain at £6.99.

IMG_6101

Finally for jewellery I got this long peace sign beaded necklace for £5.99. I just thought this would be perfect for the hippy vibe I was going for at the festival!

IMG_6103

Now for clothes. The first are a classic stone chino shorts  for £9.99. I have worn these to death already. Perfect summer shorts.

IMG_6119

The second pair of shorts is definitely more festival chic! They are a gorgeous ripped denim with a lace trim (£19.99). They are actually incredibly flattering, not too short and the lace detail is super cute!

Finally the the t-shirt worn above is a ‘lace burnout” style in pink for £8.99.

REN Glycolatic Radiance Renewal Mask

IMG_5881

I know everyone has been talking about this mask so I wasn’t going to write a post about it even though I do love until I went and won a competition on Estee’s blog Essiebutton for a year’s supply of this mask!! I never win anything and this was an amazing prize. Of course as I had already been using this mask for a few months when I won I was very very happy to win a year’s supply!!

So according to REN this mask is meant to:

  • Removes dead skin cells to renew the complexion
  • Skin looks brighter, healthier, more radiant
  • Helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Combats congestion, blackheads and blemishes

I agree. I use it about once a week and find that it really helps to keep my skin under control and give it a brighter, smoother look. It is another key product in my regime that I use to combat dark spots, scars or blemishes. I also love the texture (very thick and sticky!) and the smell (citrusy)!

So I am over the moon at having a year’s supply for free so I can keep this gem as part of my skincare routine!

Revlon ColorStay Rich Raspberry

I LOVE this colour, its rich and deep and just so stunning. The quality of Revlon nail polishes as always is amazing but the brush on this one is broad and so easy to use.

The texture is almost gel like and goes on really smoothly. I used the Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat (£4.49) first and then applied two layers of colour. I took the pictures before I applied a top coat. As you can see it has a high shine finish which you only normally get with a top coat.

I am definitely impressed and will be looking out for more from this ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel (£5.99 in Boots) range.

Hair Cut and Ombre Update

I finally decided it was time to get my hair cut and my ombre re-done. I wanted to get quite a lot taken off the length as it was just getting so long and I wanted more layers put in. I also wanted my ombre re-done to suit my new hair cut.

So this is me at the hairdressers just before they got started

And this is right after colour, cut and style!

IMG_5867

And this is at home with a bit of hair oil added in!

IMG_5873

Its so much lighter and fresher for the summer.

I took this picture of Drew Barrymore with me to the hairdressers as I just adore her cut, style and colour. It’s pretty close to the Drew Barrymore image which I am super pleased about!!

Asepta – Coup D’Eclat Ampoules

IMG_5587

These are from a French brand called Asepta and they are little ampoules that are meant to immediately lift your face and get rid of any signs of tiredness for up to 8 hours.

I read about these recently in a few places – Lisa Eldridge mentioned it in her French pharmacy video and I also saw that Harvey Nichols were stocking it in their Beauty Mart. I have also heard that this is used backstage during fashion week to give the model’s skin a last minute boost.

I have tried this twice now before a party or a night out and have to say that I definitely noticed a difference almost immediately. You essentially break the top off the ampoule and apply the liquid all over your face with a patting motion. I found it quite easy to apply and liquid seemed to get absorbed really quickly and didn’t leave any residue. I then applied my makeup over the top.

My impression is that it’s definitely worth the effort! I got these from my lovely friend Anne-Marie who brought them over from France for me. I do know that other than Harvey Nichols you can get them online from Le Guide Sante for about £16 for 12 ampoules.

More from & Other Stories

IMG_5531

I had another chance to go to the & Other Stories store in Regent Street and I found a few more things! First is this summer dress in a light printed jersey. I love the navy and white print, the cut and the cord tie. To go with this I picked up two lovely fine knit cardigans in navy and white. They are really light but somehow also warm.

Next I got a few bits from the makeup section. First are two nail polishes both in different hues of rose gold. The first Pashmina Pink (on the right and last two fingers below) is more blue toned rose and the second Rose Lame (on left and first two fingers) is very much a rose gold.

IMG_5729

I also got a blusher – “Ecarlate Pink” which looks frighteningly neon but is a beautiful sheer wash in an extremely flattering shade.

Finally I picked up an eye pencil in “Tricolette Nacquet” which is a sort of golden metallic beige. For me this works really well in my waterline giving a beautiful highlight.

Floral Bomber

IMG_5625

When I was in Asda buying their nspa skincare products that I am totally addicted to I happened to spot this floral bomber in the George clothing section! I was instantly drawn to the colours and shape of this. I have to say now that I have bought it (£16) and tried it on with a few of my clothes I love it even more! A great addition to my summer wardrobe!

Worn above with River Island jeans (old) Primark t-shirt. Below with & Other Stories dress and then with River Island dress and Whistles boots (the grey pair) in both.
