New Year’s Eve Outfit – Sequin Jumper

I spotted this gorgeous sequin jumper (£22) in Tesco (yes) whilst food shopping and couldnt resist! I thought it would be perfect for the festive season and given today is New Year Eve this may well be my outfit tonight!!

Although the sleeves are covered in sequins there is something quite subtle about this – don’t you think?!

My Little Box December

This month’s My Little Box was created in collaboration with beauty blogger Fleur de Force. I really like her vlogs so was excited to see what was in the box!

IMG_2701

As always the box itself is gorgeous and once opened revealed lots of little pretty goodies.

First is a blush pink knitted wool headband. I think this is very pretty and actually quite flattering so will definitely be using this during the winter months.

IMG_2704

The next set of items were all gift wrapping related – a little pack of patterned masking tape, some gorgeous gift tags and a spool of lovely cotton to tie your gift tags with.

IMG_2705

IMG_2706

Then inside a lovely little cloth drawstring bag were a miniature Cowshed body lotion and a L’Occitane Precious Face Cream which will be perfect for my upcoming holidays.

IMG_2709

The last item was a lipstick from the Little Beauty Range. This sheer reddish/pink lipstick is meant to be the perfect shade for every skin tone and I have to say that it definitely suited me! The texture is really light and moisturising and it gives a lovely sheer wash of colour.

So yet again I am extremely pleased with this month’s treats and am going to keep my subscription going.

Charlotte Tilbury – Magical Skincare Duo for a perfect Christmas Day!

Obviously if you woke up today and opened your gifts and received one of these you are VERY LUCKY! I’ve had Charlotte’s Magic Cream since my sister bought it for me for my birthday in May this year (!). I waited this long to review it because I wanted to be sure about whether I liked it and how effective it is. I then also purchased the Multi-Miracle Glow Balm a few weeks ago which I am also going to review in this post. I think this skincare duo from Charlotte Tilbury work well together and would make the best skincare routine for Christmas Day to ensure you look fresh and lovely and your makeup lasts all day and night! IMG_2351 So first up is the Balm, this is a multi-use product i.e. it can be used as a cleanser, a face mask, an intensive overnight treatment or just a balm for dry areas like lips, cuticles etc. This is the most amazing looking product in my bathroom (its the one on the left in picture above). The huge vintage inspired rose gold and glass jar is stunning. It costs £45 for 100ml which I have to say now that I have used this a quite a few times is seriously good value. This is because the tiniest amount of this stuff goes a long long way! IMG_2355 As a cleanser it is very good at removing all makeup without any drying or stripping of the skin but I feel like this is complete waste of this beautiful product! So I have used this mainly as an overnight intensive mask and for that it is the most luxurious thing! The smell alone is an incredible mix of rose and jasmine that is not overpowering but perfect to feel pampered. The texture as you can see above is like a very soft gel/cream in a gorgeous light pink colour! I use this sparingly after cleansing and massage into my face, neck and décolletage and then sleep with it on. I wake up every time to the softest skin! I would also say that this is going to be the best thing on long haul flights to keep skin hydrated. So on to the Magic Cream. I am not usually a fan of heavy face creams but this one totally changed my mind. It is extremely rich and thick as you can see below, but somehow never feels heavy on the skin and absorbs really well. Again this smells lovely but not overpowering. I use this when my skin needs it so not every day. I generally use this during the day as the balm has taken over for night times but before I got the balm I did use this at night when my skin was feeling particularly dry. I have used this on flights and have to say my skin never behaved better after 12 hours on a plane! As a daytime moisturiser it is amazing. My makeup goes on so smoothly and stays on longer whenever I use it. Because this cream is quite pricey (£70 for 50ml!) I do use this only when I really need to. If I could afford to repurchase this I might use it more often but definitely not everyday as for me I think it would be too rich – but then again maybe not! IMG_2354 I think these two products are the result of an absolute beauty expert with years of experience dealing with different skin types and colours creating something that really works. I believe that Charlotte Tilbury has spent years thinking about and perfecting these products and that’s why they are so good! So even at these prices I would highly recommend both products. If you didn’t get either for Christmas but want to treat yourself I would absolutely go for the Multi-Miracle Balm – it’s a unique product that is just the height of luxury!

Leather and Sparkles

I found this great outfit from River Island which I thought would be ideal for any of my Christmas parties – skinny faux leather trousers  (£40) and a sparkly light knit (£26). I never thought I would like faux leather trousers but these are flattering and really comfortable.

IMG_2487

IMG_2491

I think this look is understated but edgy and something different for the festive season!

Ultimate Party Skirt

I have a real thing for major party skirts (see picture below and here for my Topshop party skirt that I wore for my 40th birthday party).

IMG_9274

I absolutely adore the retro feel combined with the glamour of it. I would always pair skirts like these with a simple top to balance the look. So having had a good look around I have to say most of my finds were from Asos (and Coast which can also be found in Asos).

The first of these is the longest option – a beautiful organza floral maxi skirt (£75).

image4xxl

Next is a shorter tulle skirt also in a fab floral print (£65).

image1xxl

This is my favourite (£75),  I think its the length of this that I find so flattering.

image1xxl

Next is this slightly more daytime skirt but also very pretty (£45).

image1xxl

And finally a stunner from Coast (£125).

So is this your perfect New Year’s Eve outfit?

Mis en Dior Earrings – Dupe

I have been lusting after the Mis en Dior earrings for a while now but as you can imagine they are not cheap (start at about £250). Now if you are really lucky someone may buy you these for Christmas!

First of all this is what the original Dior earrings looks like – they come in lots of different styles as you can see below!

IMG_2279

My favourites are these gold star and pearl ones for £350!

IMG_2280

Obviously at these prices I have been searching everywhere for some dupes and I finally found them in New Look for the lovely price of £2.99 for each set.

So first I purchased the dark silver double pearl earrings and the cream double pearl earrings (£2.99 each) – see below

IMG_2050

IMG_2057

I then purchased a 6 pack of assorted sized pearl studs in the grey, cream and also pink (also £2.99).

I then mixed up how I wore them to give me lots of different combinations – see pictures below!

So for the grand total of £8.97 I have a lovely combination of sets that I can create that all look amazing and unique! I think this is an absolutely classy yet modern look and perfect to pair with any Christmas or New Years party outfit.
