New Look – Cardi, Skirts and Boots

Whilst browsing the internet as you do, I was visiting all my usual online shopping favourites to see if there was anything that caught my eye. Well I have to say New Look definitely had a lot that got me interested! So of course I had to put an order in! I did have a 25% off voucher which may have helped ease my conscience!!

First I got this chunky knit boyfriend cardigan in black. I just loved the texture and the pockets and the shape. It was £19.99.

Next is the skirt I am wearing with the cardigan above and below. It’s a really cute teal and black jacquard print skirt with two side splits.  I love the colour and pattern and the cut is really flattering. This was £17.99.

Another skirt I got was this tapestry print a-line skirt. The rose pattern is very pretty and vintage looking. This skirt was £19.99.

Finally I got some Chelsea Boots just because they were cute and practical and pretty good value at £27.99!

Assya Cage Cocktail Ring

I got given this by my husband as a birthday present this May and for some reason I totally forgot to blog about it! My sister discovered the Assya brand while she was shopping in London and it was easy to fall in love with their pieces. I am definitely a cocktail ring sort of gal so this Cage Ring immediately appealed to me.

They do a range of metals (yellow, rose, silver and rhodium) and loads of different semi-precious stones. They are about £250 each. I went for yellow plated gold and Prasiolite (green quartz). The cage design is really stunning and sets the stone off beautifully. I love this ring and wear it all the time, not just for cocktails! Oh and it was featured in the November edition of Red magazine too!

Maybe something to add to your Christmas wish list??!

This is my first proper Christmas post which I am very excited about. I don’t know why but Christmas fever has started early for me!

These are some of my favourite eyeshadow palettes at the moment and I am hoping that Santa may get me one of these beauties! They are all around the bronzed theme as that is ultimately my favourite type!

Supersoft Hair from Label M

I was reading the Guardian Life and Style pages and came across a review by bloggers Face Goop of this Label M leave in hair conditioner. I have similar hair to one of the bloggers, thick and crazy and frizzy and she swore this worked wonders on her hair so of course I had to try it for myself!!

When I found that Look Fantastic were doing an offer on the 1000ml for £15.25 including delivery I went for it! 1000ml is a lot but I have a lot of hair and so does my daughter!!

IMG_7346

Well I am not going to lie I am not so impressed with this. I have never tried just letting my hair dry naturally once I have applied this so I don’t know if that somehow makes a difference but it just isn’t that great for me. The consistency is a bit gloopy. Once in my hair it leaves a very weird sticky residue that doesn’t last once dry but still feels weird.

IMG_7351

So I am not completely impressed. I have tried this in my daughters hair too and again its ok nothing to yell about. So I have a huge bottle of this stuff that I am sure we will get through eventually but it is definitely not one of my best purchases..

Cosy Winter Clothes

As the temperatures drop I have been looking to bolster my winter wardrobe. I felt the need to get some really cosy knits to keep me warm! I found a few great pieces in H&M and was extra pleased when I got a 25% off H&M voucher in a October Grazia issue!

The first thing that caught my eye was this warm polo neck jumper. It was £9.99 and I just couldn’t resist it’s cosy look!

IMG_7241

Next I got a simple black jumper which has got a sort of “open knit” with a few silvery threads shot through. Very easy to wear and warm despite the holes!! This was £24.99.

I also found this zebra print dress which I  thought was quite different and cool! It is made of quite a thick jersey material so good to keep warm in! It was £14.99.

IMG_7364

Finally I got this brilliant faux fur long gilet (£39.99). I just LOVE this. It’s a bit crazy but so cute on and super cosy!!

Taming of the Brow

As you may be aware I have major brows! I stopped plucking them completely about two years ago now and have not looked back. I therefore need something to tame my brows so they don’t look completely crazy! I usually just use a clear mascara but Maybelline recently launched “Brow Drama”! I was of course instantly sold! I got the colour Dark Brown but it also comes in Deep Blonde or Medium Brown. They are £4.99 each.

IMG_7184

The brush is the perfect shape for taming brows and the colour is not too strong but enough to add definition and the hold is really good. Overall I am really impressed with this and was quite surprised at how well it worked given the price. A great purchase!IMG_7181

Perfect Hooded Coat

This is part two of my “perfect winter” series! The first was about perfect boots for skinny calves (worn with perfect coat below!) and this one is about the perfect hooded coat!

I have looked for two years running for my perfect hooded winter coat. I don’t know why but I just really wanted a coat with hood but didn’t want a parka or duffel coat. I wanted sophisticated elegance with a hood! I think I love the idea that if it is raining lightly I could simply pull my hood up instead of rummaging around for my umbrella only to find that the rain had stopped by the time I found it! I know it’s a strange reason! I do also love the look of a hooded coat but I only ever seemed to find designer brands that did them which was out of my price range.

I will stop rambling on and share with you my perfect hooded coat! It’s from Zara and cost a mere £109 (I say mere because I think it looks and feels super expensive). It was also featured as no1 of Grazia’s list in an early October edition so was bound to sell out! I got mine in September as I thought it would disappear and I would regret it forever!

Basic Everyday Staples

Primark are really good for basic things that become everyday staples. I picked up a couple of things from there recently and have been wearing them non- stop!

First is this long, thick, speckled grey cardigan. I think this was £14. It’s really warm and cosy and goes with everything! I love the slightly batwing shape as well.

Next I picked up this navy waffle jumper (£8) and two simple tube skirts one in black (£3) and one in grey (£1). Again these are really easy to wear and just work well with lots of different things. Worn with Duo Boots.

White Company, Grey Trousers

I was looking for a pair of grey skinny trousers and happened to find them in the White Company. They were quite pricey at £85 but I had a 15% voucher which brought them down to £72 (still pricey!).

I have to admit they fit beautifully (I went for a size 12) and hang well from the hip. I prefer low waisted to high so these were perfect. I like the zips and stitching on the knee which makes them a good skinny fit.
