Pool to Bar

I was in TK Maxx recently and spotted these two items that I just had to snap up for my upcoming holiday in Malaysia. The perfect pool to bar duo – a kaftan and an oversized clutch!

The Kaftan (£20) is by a brand called Eb & Ive which I think is Australian. Its a beautiful hot pink with tassels all along the edges. Its very loose and cool and looks fab over a swimsuit to head to the bar after a day by the pool!

Next the oversized clutch! I mean how crazy cute is this?? Plus it is massive! This is by the brand Bulaggi and its was £12.99.

I love the two different prints on the front and back and that I would be able to get everything I need in it!

All set for the beach!

Magazine Inspiration Board – July

I cant believe its already July and time for my new regular monthly Magazine Inspiration Board post (see May and June here).

This month magazines have been full of summer and autumn fashion and beauty. I always think it is so odd that whilst its hot and lovely magazines are already talking about the colder weather! Even so I have managed to find quite a few things that have inspired or tempted me!

I am going to start with some summer beauty inspiration. First is something I am already using and will post on soon – the Facefinity Primer by Maxfactor – its brilliant so had to include it!

Next are two essentials for glowing summer skin. I am especially tempted by the Lancome Star Bronzer – it just looks stunning!

My hair always goes so frizzy in the summer, especially when I go on holiday to places like Malaysia so this looked like a great solution from Aveda.

Next some fashion – I adore this skirt from Asos plus it would work into autumn and winter too!

IMG_0506

I thought this skirt from Cos was such a pretty pastel blue and I love the unusual shape.

These shoes from LK Bennett are to die for but sadly the price isn’t !

IMG_0509

Lastly some bling! As you know I am obsessed with Monica Vinader and here are some more tempting options to add to my collection!

And finally this necklace is so cute (plus the bag is gorgeous too!).

Sunkissed Tresses

IMG_9995

I spotted an ad on TV about this amazing new product from L’Oreal called Sunkiss Jelly (£4.99). This is basically a leave-in lightening gel. It is meant to gently and gradually lighten your hair using no ammonia or other nasties.

I thought this would be a great way to lighten my ombre ends for the summer so immediately got some. I went for 01 which is for light brown to dark blonde hair (i.e. for the darkest shade of natural hair) 02 and 03 are for lighter hair.

I have been using this for about 10 days (with 3 hair washes in between) and I do feel like it is lightening my hair but very subtly. The great thing is that it smells nice and has a lovely serum like texture so I use it on dry styled hair almost like a styling product. It doesn’t make my hair sticky or greasy, it just smoothes my hair and looks great! I only used this on lightened ends as the rest of my hair is very dark and I assume it wouldn’t really have much of an effect. I have not really bothered using this on wet hair as I prefer to just add it at the end. Heating the product is meant to make it more effective but I am trying to minimise damage so I thought I would just use it after styling.

Overall I have to say I am quite liking this. My hair looks a bit more summery and hasn’t been left damaged by bleaching it. I would definitely recommend this but only if your hair is light enough for it to actually have an effect.

Summer Wardrobe Update

I won’t lie I have slowly (well quite quickly really) been updating my summer wardrobe. The New Look haul (see here) was one part whilst these other pieces are from various places including Zara, Topshop and River Island.

This first outfit is a mix of my New Look floral skater skirt, an Asos cami (£12) and my Asos gold sandals (see post). I love this simple black cami and I can see myself wearing this all summer.

Next I have paired the cami with a gorgeous skirt from Topshop (£35) that I have seen loads of bloggers talking about. I love this skirt, but I got it from the Tall section as I didn’t want it to be too short!

IMG_0306

Next I found this cute top in Zara (£25.99) which I have paired with my chino shorts from New Look, and these gorgeous pink snakeskin pointed flats from Topshop (£16).

I have then added this super cute jacket in peach also from Zara (£39.99 in the sale).

Finally I found this bright fluro orange top in River Island (£20) and had to have it! I love the detailing on the neckline.
