Finally a Denim Jacket

I should really own a denim jacket by now but I don’t. Not because I don’t like them but because for some reason I never found one that suits me. Now I have and its from H&M (£24.99). H&M are really killing it with their clothes this year..just saying!

Its such a versatile piece that seems to go with anything – I guess everyone already knew that, but its a revelation for me!

So shorts and simple tee – perfect…

Can you tell I am in love?

Blue Magic – Sunday Riley’s Luna Oil

This is probably one of the most talked about products of the year so of course I gave in and got one from Space NK. My wallet cried. It costs a whopping £85 for this little (30ml) bottle of blue magic! Ouch!

IMG_5626

OK having got over the shock of the price and the size of the bottle, I placed it in a prime position on my bedside table still in its box to protect the precious oils from any light.

IMG_5627

I have been using this now for 2 months about 2-3 nights a week so I think that is long enough to form an opinion. I won’t bore you with the list of ingredients you can look them up here (Sunday Riley) but the blue colour is quite fascinating! This is an oil based retinol product which from the reviews I’ve read is quite a new thing.

IMG_5629

The oil smells pleasant enough and is quite thick but sinks in really well. I have mainly used this on its own. So far I absolutely love this oil, so much which probably means I will have to re-purchase it..but I think its worth it. I am 41 this year and I look at this as an investment buy. I am investing in my skin. This has made my skin smoother, less pigmented and just overall fresher and brighter. I immediately started using less foundation and concealer and some days I leave the house with just a dusting of powder – yes really!! But seriously I don’t normally wear tons of makeup but this oil has allowed me to wear even less and still feel great about my skin. For that reason alone its worth the money.

Will you be making your wallet cry and skin smile?!

The Mascara with the Crazy Name

Yes you guessed it this post is about Too Faced‘s Better Than Sex Mascara! I mean really what a name! OK now does it live up to its name???

IMG_5478

I picked mine up from Debenhams and its was originally £19 but I got 10% off so it was £17.10. So not exactly cheap but neither is it too expensive.

The packaging is quite nice and the brush is large and very fluffy!

IMG_5480

In the picture below you can see the right eye has got the mascara on compared with nothing on the left eye.

IMG_5506

Its quite a difference, the lashes are long and curled and separated. It definitely has an impact. The formula is quite wet and brush is quite large, so you do have to be careful when applying this or it ends up all over your eyelids!

I do like this mascara, however its not the best I’ve tried.  So pretty good but not one I would rush out to re-purchase.

Kiko Cream Eyeshadow Pot

Kiko makeup is really good quality and affordable. Its just a shame there aren’t more shops! I had about five minutes in Kiko a few weeks back and went straight for the Cream Crush Lasting Eyeshadow in 08 Pearly Dark Brown (£6.90). Its a smoky brown colour with flecks of gold and silver glitter which is very wearable both day and night. Its so easy to use, blends really well and lasts all day. Of course now I want more colours..!

My Kind of Lace-Ups

I’m not a trainer sort of person so I never look at them but whilst I was shopping for some shoes for my daughter in Next I spotted these (£22) and I knew I had finally found my sort of trainers (or lace-ups as these are called!).

They are a beautiful dusty rose, and are just yum. The canvas makes them durable and I love the simple white soles.

Market Treasures

I don’t normally write about things that aren’t widely available but I had to make an exception for this necklace. I found this in the Winchester Art & Design market and absolutely fell in love. It is made from a mix of different semi precious rough cut stones. I love the pastel hues and the different shapes and sizes of the stones. It also means that this literally goes with any outfit!

I love finding unique pieces like this, market treasures are the best!

Summer Body Duo

IMG_5207

I love a good scrub and cream combo in the summer, and these two from Garnier work perfectly.

The Garnier Body Tonic scrub (£6.99) is citrusy, refreshing yet moisturising. It really exfoliates your skin but it also lathers to cleanse. I love this in the summer, it makes my skin feel soft and smells so zingy.

IMG_5209

The Body Repair Lotion (£.5.45) is a lovely light lotion that packs a real punch.

IMG_5210

I often get very dry legs and arms in the summer and this lotion applied after the scrub is perfect. My skin is moisturised all day and left looking silky!

So the perfect duo for perfect summer skin!
