Ombre Hair

I have had Ombre hair for a while now. I had it done in February this year and to be honest I haven’t looked back.

I originally had a much redder tint in the ends but that naturally developed into what I have now and I am really happy with the way it looks. Somehow I haven’t got bored of this look and keep getting compliments on it so for now its set to stay!

Hot Cloth Cleansing – Limited Edition Liz Earle and Alpha H

IMG_3205

I know everyone has written about hot cloth cleansing especially with the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. The reason is because its an amazing way to really clean your face without scrubbing with harsh exfoliators.

Recently I have been trying the new limited edition Liz Earle Rose and Lavender Cleanse and Polish. I love the original cleanser but have to admit I love this slightly more especially for the evening as the smells are so soothing. It’s just as good at getting all my makeup off including waterproof mascara and I never have skin that feels tight or dry afterwards. As I said this is a limited edition version and once they sell out their gone so get one quick if you like the sound of it! An added bonus is they come in a larger size than the original (150ml) and of course they come with the muslin cloths too. I have to admit that although I do use the muslin cloths that come with these cleansers, I prefer to use a waffle texture cloth as find it seems to clean my face better. I get my face cloths from a shop called Cocoabeans on Etsy.

The other cleanser I have been using with the hot cloth method is the Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser with Aloe Vera. You can buy this on-line easily, I got mine from Beauty Bay. This cleanser is more “functional”, what I mean by that is that it doesn’t smell of anything and comes in a simple white pump. It’s amazing at taking off makeup and getting rid of any impurities and it also doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry or tight. I use this when I want a really good clean without any fuss!

I think on balance the Liz Earle cleansers are my favourite as they feel and smell like luxury and pampering which I love. The Alpha- H cleanser is my go to cleanser when skin is not behaving and needs a no frills approach! So I would definitely recommend both and use them depending on your mood as they are both a great way to hot cloth cleanse.

Glitter Nail Polish

Glitter or glittery nail polishes are everywhere at the moment.

Recently I have bought quite a few glitter nail polishes mainly from Barry M. In the picture above the first three: Aqua Glitter, Gold Glitter and Magenta Glitter are glitter particles in a clear polish. See picture below.

The next four: Copper, Black Multi Glitter, Pink Silver Glitter, and Silvery Lilac are more of a solid glitter colour (below).

I have also got a Beauty UK Posh Polish in Twinkle Twinkle and finally my favourite – a Chanel polish no 607 Delight (below).

I think the glitter particles work best with a coloured base coat whilst the glittery colours work perfectly on their own. My favourite of the Barry M ones is the pink silver glitter. I wear it a lot and its very chic and incredibly durable.

As for my Chanel Delight – well it’s the perfect gold shade with a beautiful subtle shimmer that catches the light so prettily. It’s sophisticated while also being trendy. Of all my glittery colours this is the one I keep coming back to. It was a limited edition so may be quite hard to get hold of but a really good alternative is the Barry M Copper. It’s more coppery than rose gold but still stunning on and so glam and yet somehow very wearable.

So my advice is get some glitter in your life and have some fun!

Anna Dello Russo for H&M

I have to admit, before the Anna Dello Russo for H&M Collection was launched on 4th October I wasn’t convinced. I happened to be in London for a meeting on the day it launched so I popped into the Regent St H&M branch.

On the whole the collection was just not me, except for this piece. Its a beautiful wraparound bangle in gold and enamel with a really cool snake head with an embedded crystal. Its bold and funky but also somehow quite classy. I haven’t worn it yet but am already planning an evening to show it off!
