MAC Mineralise Skinfinish – as eyeshadow

I’ve had this MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Earthshine for a long while now and to be honest I didn’t really know how best to use it. I absolutely love the colours but as a skinfinsh it is very strong and heavily bronzed so I could never get it to work on my face without looking way over bronzed and shiny!

One day I decided to try it as an eyeshadow and OMG it is just stunning!

IMG_2554

It is a beautiful reddy, bronze, gold mix that just looks amazing on.

I am hooked! I wonder how may other MAC Mineralise Skinfinishing powders would work as eyeshadows..?!

My Little Box – Frenchie

This month’s My Little Box is in collaboration with Ines De La Fressange – French model and muse.

As always the box and packaging are so adorable.

IMG_4060

Inside there was a lovely iPhone case and a little bottle filled with inspirational notes.

From the beauty side I was very pleased to see a By Terry Crayon Khol Terrbly eye kohl and it was full size! The pencil is a really lovely black with little gold flecks in it (Holy Black).

Also included were DHC Oil Blotting Papers comes in a cute little pink handbag friendly case and a L’Oreal Brow Pencil.

From the My Little Beauty range was an “Embellisseur” a peachy toned  complexion enhancer – I haven’t tried this yet as I think it won’t suit my skin tone so I am saving it to giveaway to someone who can use it!

Another lovely collection of things looking forward to next month!

Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain

I finally decided to give this lip stain a try, it’s the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain and I got three shades (£7.99).

IMG_3449

Shanghai Sizzle on the left, Barcelona Nights in the middle and Parisian Passion on the right (in pictures above and below).

IMG_3454

As you can see the doe-foot applicator is a perfect shape and size. The colours are really bright and vivid. The formula of these stains is amazing, it is creamy and shiny and lasts for ages without drying out. You can also play around with the intensity you want. For example if you can just dab a bit on and blend it in for a light flush of colour. I have taken photos of all three building up the colour to show you.

So first two images below are Shanghai Sizzle. In the top photos I have applied it very lightly and in the second more intensely.

Next is Barcelona Nights

And finally Parisian Passion

I really love this formula, its easy to wear and the colour is so flattering. I am sure I will be getting lots of wear out of these!

Mis en Dior Earrings – the real thing!

I have been lusting after a pair of Mis en Dior earrings for a while now. I even wrote about the Mis en Dior dupe earrings that I found here!  Then in Heathrow Terminal 5 there these were and I just couldn’t resist! These are the most gorgeous of the Mis en Dior earrings I have seen so once I saw them I knew they had to be mine. These were part of my 40th birthday gift from my mum so not an impulse purchase in any way!!

The combination of pink pearl and the silvery crystal is just stunning and very classic.

They look amazing on and go with everything!

Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette

I picked up the Nars Domination Palette in the Duty Free on my way to my holidays and I love it. I think this was a limited edition palette, so I am not sure its going to be easy to find now – sorry! I didn’t know if the colours would suit me but they do. The  two blushers on the right are gorgeous as is the highlighter. The bronzer is perfect for me as powder when I have a tan! The only colour thats not perfect is the blusher on the bottom left but even that I can make work by blending with the other two! As always another winner from Nars!

White Company for my Brushes

I love the White Company and especially their candles and every time I finish one I recycle the containers to store my brushes. They look so chic on my dressing table.

IMG_2408

So far I have an amazing silver one for all my larger brushes.

IMG_2409

A large clear glass one for all my eyeliners and concealers and I also recently purchased a tea light votive for my smaller brushes  – the one on the right below (I think it was £8).

IMG_2410

I think this is such a good way to reuse these beautiful containers and display your brushes elegantly!

Lipidol Skincare

I found this brand in South Africa when I was there on holiday. Its called Lipidol and its a small range of oil based skin and body care (including cleansing body oil, after shower oil, sunscreen oil etc.). I decided to try the Cleansing Face Oil (the blue one below) and the Overnight Face Oil (about £5 at the time of purchase).

IMG_3266

The Cleansing Face Oil has Rosemary and Niaouli essential oils and a range of other oils. It is a really light oil that removes makeup and can be washed off. I like this but find that its not very good at removing mascara, but otherwise it works well.

The Overnight Face Oil has Ylang-Ylang and Black Pepper essential oils. I prefer this to the cleansing oil. It is lovely and moisturising and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated the next morning.

I think this was a lovely holiday skincare find and if I go back to South Africa I would be tempted to try more from the range.

Gas Bijoux Comete Earrings

I spotted these earrings whilst on holiday and I was waiting to get them on my last day but when I went to the shop it was closed! Well I couldn’t get them out of my head (always a sign that I love something) and so I went online and found them! Gas Bijoux are a French jewellers. Their jewellery is quite unique and varied. These are the large Comete earrings (£77). I fell in love with the shape, the stars and the size!

IMG_3260

As you can see below, they look gorgeous on – a real statement piece without being un-wearable.

IMG_3278

I think because they sit quite high and don’t hang too low they look really chic.

I know I will be getting a lot of wear out of these so I am super pleased with them!
