Forever 21 midi tube skirt

I spotted this the last time I was in Forever 21 and couldn’t decide it I loved or not! At £12 I just got it and I am glad I did. I really love this skirt now. I think its different to my other midi skirts that are more full. I love the jersey fabric and drawstring waist which gives it sports luxe feel.

Clarins Skin Perfecting BB Cream

I have been looking for a BB cream that suits my skin with no luck and then I saw this one from Clarins. Its the Skin Perfecting BB Cream in 03 (£30). The colour is almost a perfect match – what I mean is that in the winter this is perfect but as my skin gets darker in the summer this will be too light. For now however I really like this. Come the summer I am intending to mix it with a darker shade of foundation.

Its has a dewy finish and medium coverage. I like that Clarins makeup is almost like skincare too!

I like the feel of this on my skin and it wears well – overall I am pleased but just wish it came in an even darker shade!

Sally Hansen Highway to Heaven

I was on the look out for a true grey when I spotted this colour by Sally Hansen. Its called Highway to Heaven and its from the Complete Salon Manicure range (£6.99)

This range of polish is meant to be a complete manicure in one polish – i.e. Base Coat, Strengthener, Growth Treatment, Colour , Top Coat, Chip-Resistant and Gel Shine!

I love this grey colour but have to say that this doesn’t last that well without a separate top coat – so not the miracle product I was hoping for but a good nail polish nonetheless!

The Library of Fragrance Layers of Jasmine and Thunderstorm

I have been wanting to try out The Library of Fragrance ever since they launched in Boots. They have also been on a permanent 2 for £25 offer (normally £15 each).

So my choices were entirely inspired by some Jasmine incense sticks I got while I was in Malaysia! I just loved the combination. So I decided to try and recreate the smell by getting the Jasmine scent and mixing it with the Thunderstorm scent – which definitely has an incense-like smell. I absolutely love the combination. By layering the two, I find that the Jasmine is not too floral as the Thunderstorm makes it more spicy and interesting.

The range of scents available from this brand is incredible. I have my eye on Amber and Orange Blossom next!

L’Oreal Hair Expertise Everriche Oil Precieux

After updating my Ombre colour (see here) I wanted to get something to help improve the condition of my hair in between washes so I got this new hair oil spray by L’Oreal (£11.99). I love hair oils, especially L’Oreal ones (see here and here) so I really wanted to try this out.

IMG_4281

First of all the smell is amazing – oriental jasmine! Secondly I love that its in spray form which makes it easier to use. Be warned though the spray is not that fine so you do have to be careful, so sometimes I just spray it into my palms and apply it that way. I am very very impressed with this. My hair is immediately softened and left looking shiny, healthy and frizz free. I don’t know if its improving the actual health of my hair but it definitely feels that way!

A great addition to the L’Oreal hair oil range!

Burberry Kisses

As soon as I saw that Burberry Beauty  were coming out with a new range of lipsticks called Burberry Kisses I knew I would be getting one (or more?!). I love the idea of buildable colour. Often during the day, in the office I just want a light wash of colour that I can add to if I want to go our after or just because I feel like it! This is exactly the idea behind the Burberry Kisses range.

I decided immediately that my first colour would be a red. Not a dark evening red but more of day red. So I went with Union Red 113 (£25 each).

IMG_4295

First of all the packaging as always with Burberry is amazing, I love the magnetic lid!

The colour I chose is perfect, not a scary red but easy to wear. It definitely goes on like a sheer colour with a balmy texture. If you then keep adding layers and blotting the colour deepens and the coverage gets better. Basically it does exactly what they say! See three pictures below showing how I’ve applied it sheer to a deeper colour.

There are so many colours in the range that I think I may have to pay a visit to the Burberry Beauty store in Covent Garden so I can carefully choose the next colour(s)..yes I am definitely getting more of these!

Summer Ankle Boots with a Twist

These ankle boots from Office are just so unique. They are the Uncanny Leopard print boots £75.

IMG_4491

Initially I didn’t know whether the leopard print would be too much or just a bit strange but once on these boots are gorgeous. I really do think these will be my perfect summer ankle boot this year!

I love the heel, the zip at the back and the overall shape – it goes with so many things even though it is a print.

I have to say that I love these boots so much that I am very tempted to get the brown suede version too!!

Sanctuary Spa Body Scrubs

There was a 3 for 2 offer on in Boots recently on Sanctuary Spa products and as I was running low on shower gels I though I would grab something from their range.

Instead I got totally distracted by their amazing sounding and smelling body scrubs. I grabbed two the White Lily & Damask Rose and the Green Lemon & Orange Blossom (my third free item was a foaming shower gel which I am also loving)!

IMG_4322

The body scrubs are just the loveliest shower products I have tried in while. The scrub texture is very fine and they do foam ever so slightly to help you feel like your are cleansing whilst also scrubbing! So to me its kind a of a two in one product – shower gel and body scrub! Often with body scrubs they are quite oily so its best to use them after your have cleansed. This only needs one step which is even better. The next best thing is the smell – OMG these smell heavenly. Subtle yet lingering in a good way! I always feel so pampered after using these! I try not to use them everyday but I am finding excuses to use them more often than not!!

Definitely worth trying these out!

Burberry Beauty – Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base – Golden Radiance 02

Whilst watching YouTube videos of London Fashion Week I came across Ruth Crilly’s video of the makeup look for the Burberry show. In it Ruth demonstrated how Wendy Rowe used the  Burberry Beauty Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Golden Radiance 2 in two ways.

First she used it as a primer and to give the skin radiance which in itself looked amazing.

Next she used it to create her own blend of cream eye shadow, mixing the fluid with a black eye shadow. The effect was a lovely soft smoky look with some iridescence.

I was absolutely sold then so had to get my hands on this immediately! I ordered mine from John Lewis (£34). I have used it both ways and love it. I mainly use it as primer and it definitely gives my skin a subtle glow.

I have also used it with a range of powder eye shadows to create a cream version and it really does work. I love the colour of this base and it has just the right amount of glow that works well with most eye shadow colours.

I am extremely pleased with this and have to say Burberry Beauty is fast becoming one of my favourite beauty brands.
