I have always loved Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup and skincare and have written numerous posts about them (see here, here, here, here, here, here !!!). This time it was the much hyped Hollywood Flawless Filter (£30) – a sheer highlighter/skin tint/light foundation multi use product! I went for shade 6 based on the recommendation on her website. It was the perfect match. This is a very very interesting product. At first you may not understand the purpose or what it is doing for you. Believe me in time, you will and then you will wonder how you ever did your makeup without it! Ok a bit dramatic but true!
It is a very light fluid that comes in a lovely glass bottle with a large doe foot applicator. This is actually a really effective way of dispensing the right amount exactly where you want it. I use it most as a highlighter (without shimmer or glitter) on my cheekbones.. I dot this under my eyes and blend with my fingers and the result is a glowing highlighted awake appearance. I also use this as a base on my minimal makeup days. I am planning on taking this on holiday when I hope that after I have had a bit of sun, this will just add the right amount of glow without needing to wear much else. Yes Charlotte Tilbury is pricey but I find always worth it. I am obsessed with this and would definitely repurchase.
I am really getting into a darker matte lip this autumn/winter.
Last year I got my first Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick – Walk of Shame which really introduced me to the joys of a good matte lipstick. My previous experiences have left my lips looking dry and flaky – not a good look! I loved Walk of Shame so much I am halfway through my second one! I then went on to Love Liberty which is an amazing darker red and also Bond Girl which is the most subtle of the three.
Below from left to right – Bond Girl, Walk of Shame and Love Liberty.
Bond Girl (below) is sort of my lips but better and a bit darker! I love this colour, it’s so easy to wear and suits a range of makeup looks.
Walk of Shame (below) is a slightly darker brown red that is so versatile and chic.
Love Liberty (below) is much more of a dark red. I absolutely adore this colour on my skin tone, it’s very wearable – I have worn this a lot during the day to work. I do tend to keep the rest of my makeup subtle and clean.
Charlotte Tilbury as always has really nailed the matte lipstick – which one will you try?
Yes more Charlotte Tilbury! I am obsessed I won’t lie. This is the new cream eyeshadow “Eyes to Mesmerise” in Bette (£22).
The texture is mousse-like but the pigment is incredibly vibrant. This colour is what I would call “old gold” I absolutely love this shade on my skin tone.
I have applied this with a MAC 217 but it works just as well with fingers, and lasts all day..of course.
Already plotting when I will get Marie Antoinette and Mona Lisa!
So I finally got my hands on Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution lipsticks and I was not disappointed. These are just the most lovely formula of matte lipsticks. They are moisturising and non drying and leave your lips looking luminous yet matte. So I grabbed three colours Amazing Grace, Walk of Shame and Love Liberty (£23 each).
Amazing Grace, Walk of Shame and Love Liberty (from left to right in picture below).
I don’t know how to describe this lipstick, because although it is matte it is nothing like any other matte lipstick I have tried so far. It goes on smooth with a creamy, moisturising texture. The colour can be built up from quite sheer to full on.
I have to also comment on the smell which is vanilla-like without any sickly sweetness. I have been reaching for one of these lipstick almost everyday.
Below is Walk of Shame – a reddy brown and very flattering on my skin tone.
Next is Love Liberty a dark red with plummy edge. So chic and very wearable.
Finally is Amazing Grace, a pinkish colour which really brightens my face.
I love all three but if I had to choose it would be Walk of Shame its just so easy to wear and suits every type of makeup. Such a beautiful lipstick and definitely worth the hype.
I don’t need to explain myself – I am totally obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury makeup and skincare. She has created loads of different Gifts Sets and these are my favourites.
Skin Transformation Duo £105 – the skin primer Wonder Glow and her incredible Magic Cream (my review coming soon!)
Supermodel Skin Kit £80 – again Wonder Glow this time with Supermodel Body – an all over skin perfector
Gorgeous Glowing Youth £85 – Wonder Glow (yes again), Multi-Miracle Glow (a review of this is also coming soon!) and small pot of her Magic cream.
Makeup Bag Rose Gold and Night Crimson £25.00 – I have the original (see here) but love this one even more!
Filmstar Killer Cheekbones £82 – the already cult Filmstar Bronze and Glow with her Powder and Sculpt Brush.
I am building quite a collection of Charlotte Tilbury products (see here, here, here and here!). Oh dear thats bad..
Anyway moving on.
This is the newly launched Filmstars on the Go palette (£42). This is a lip/cheek/eye palette for when you are “on the go” of course! The stunning (as always) packaging houses a creamy metallic eyeshadow and a “Lip to Cheek” cream polish. I got the Spy Who Loved Me palette as it is described as being suited darker skin tones.
I have to say that this palette like everything else Charlotte Tilbury does is beautiful. The eyeshadow is the perfect rose gold shade, is creamy but lasts and is just stunning. The lip to cheek cream is a berry colour that is definitely better on my cheeks than my lips but thats fine by me as I love it on my cheeks. It has great colour pay off and leaves your cheeks blowy and lovely! So I would definitely recommend this new palette and I would act quickly if you want one as they are limited edition.
