Of course this month is all about dressing for the festive season for all those Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties. So with that in mind here are my pick of dresses first.
Who doesn’t love a lot of sequins!
This dress is the perfect Christmas shade and a very flattering cut.
I absolutely adore the idea of long skirts with a simple top – if I could pull it off this would be my signature look!
I had to throw in these absolutely fabulous trousers – if I could afford them they would pair perfectly with a simple black tee for the coolest outfit!
Next we have shoes – first of all I LOVE stars so these starry heels had to feature!
But I love this retro vibe even more Sophia Webster (£395!)!
Finally some sensible flats?
Accessories are a must and this Miss Kurt Geiger (£45) clutch is so pretty.
A little bee encrusted collar to liven up simple LBD by Marc Cain (£39)?
And of course more stars..these are so cute and at that price I will be getting a few and layering them together!
One statement earring is a great idea – of course the safety pin is my favourite but you can’t beat Claire’s Accessories for price!!
Then a bit of festive makeup starting with Chanel’s Camelia Des Plumes Highlighting Powder (£47) and followed by a beautiful Givenchy Palette.
And finally the perfect post-festive hangover cure
So November magazines are of course well into the winter clothes, skincare and makeup. For me this month was all about the cape. Of course the monogrammed Burberry cape has been seen everywhere but for mere mortals I was really taken with this one from Jigsaw. For an alternative to the cape I loved this gently draping coat from Asos too.
On to dresses – I still love a good printed dress, but in winter the appeal of a knitted dress is up there!
Finally for clothing I love this look from Wallis – simple, elegant and warm!
I spotted this necklace from Dower & Hall and just loved the simplicity of the two stones.
Onto skincare which by now is changing to suit the colder, drier weather and this Peeling Night Lotion from L’Oreal has been featured in a few magazines. I have to admit to already be using it – post coming soon!!
I love Una Brennan’s products and am keen to try this Rose night cream – anything rose at night is a winner for me!
Finally for skincare – love these multi-tasking tips – genius!!
For makeup two things caught my eye – lipstick of course from Charlotte Tilbury – her new Modern-Matte lipsticks are meant to be amazing.. And then this little blusher from Burberry just looked so easy and fresh.
The October issues were absolutely brimming with amazing clothes, skincare and makeup so this is going to be quite a long post – be warned!
I won’t ramble on too much but let’s start with clothes! There were loads of great Autumn skirts, shorts (yes so pretty from H&M), dresses and of course coats and boots to choose from here are my favourites.
If I didn’t already have a couple of over the knee boots for this winter (see here and here) I would definitely be on the lookout.
A couple of new collections also caught my eye – both H&M. The first is a new collaboration from H&M (below).
The second is this image from the Dries Van Norten A/W 2014 collection. I love the fuchsia print material and then found this dress and skirt in H&M which are so similar and I love them!
A couple of accessories. Love the safety pin brooch from Sonia Rykiel £44.
Next some skincare. I am especially into the serum in oil idea and have tried a two of the ones featured – the Sanctuary Spa and Sarah Chapman. Am also very keen to try an EE cream!
So on to makeup, two L’Oreal and one from Rimmel. I need a new brow tamer and this one looks perfect. I absolutely love nude nail polishes in Autumn and will definitely be giving these 2-step ones a try! The new Rimmel mascara also sounds lovely – argon oil is definitely a huge trend.
And last but not least a hair thing! I saw this and thought it was such a lovely idea and will definitely be giving this a go – a scarf plaited into your hair!
Well August is the September Issue month so magazines are huge and packed full of stuff. However this also means that summer is almost gone and the magazines are well and truly gearing up for the cooler months ahead… This is quite depressing but I have embraced the promise of cooler days to mean a change in my fashion tastes.
Starting with clothes I spotted these gorgeous offerings and yes they do mostly seem a bit dark and gothic but come the dark days of November they will look amazing! I am especially in love with the Warehouse dress (second picture below) that looks super expensive but is only £55!
I had to include a couple of coats especially the furry one from Whistle which I think is £250 (ouch)?
Next I have spotted a few hair products that I really liked, one of which I have already posted about here (Sunkiss Jelly). The other is an “ionic brush” that claims to reduce frizz – I am actually thinking of getting this for my daughter who has a lot of long thick hair that is regularly like a birds nest! Finally some new Bumble and Bumble products that sounds right up my street!
Finally of course there had to be some makeup/skincare. I am definitely interested to try the new Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain, but I have to admit I am maybe more tempted by the new Dior lip balms. I have already got a hefty collection of the L’Oreal Color Riche eyeshadows. They come in a range of finishes (matte, lumiere, nude, smoky and chameleon) and are an absolute dream to apply. I am also rather intrigued by the crazy wand shape of this Lancome mascara and the super cool reason of why it is shaped that way!
And for skincare I love this idea of using a balm cleanser with my Clarisonic – must try this!
I cant believe its already July and time for my new regular monthly Magazine Inspiration Board post (see May and June here).
This month magazines have been full of summer and autumn fashion and beauty. I always think it is so odd that whilst its hot and lovely magazines are already talking about the colder weather! Even so I have managed to find quite a few things that have inspired or tempted me!
I am going to start with some summer beauty inspiration. First is something I am already using and will post on soon – the Facefinity Primer by Maxfactor – its brilliant so had to include it!
Next are two essentials for glowing summer skin. I am especially tempted by the Lancome Star Bronzer – it just looks stunning!
My hair always goes so frizzy in the summer, especially when I go on holiday to places like Malaysia so this looked like a great solution from Aveda.
Next some fashion – I adore this skirt from Asos plus it would work into autumn and winter too!
I thought this skirt from Cos was such a pretty pastel blue and I love the unusual shape.
These shoes from LK Bennett are to die for but sadly the price isn’t !
Lastly some bling! As you know I am obsessed with Monica Vinader and here are some more tempting options to add to my collection!
And finally this necklace is so cute (plus the bag is gorgeous too!).
