Magazine Inspiration Board – November

Of course this month is all about dressing for the festive season for all those Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties. So with that in mind here are my pick of dresses first.

Who doesn’t love a lot of sequins!

IMG_2089

This dress is the perfect Christmas shade and a very flattering cut.

IMG_2094

I absolutely adore the idea of long skirts with a simple top – if I could pull it off this would be my signature look!

IMG_2109

IMG_2100

I had to throw in these absolutely fabulous trousers – if I could afford them they would pair perfectly with a simple black tee for the coolest outfit!

IMG_2102

Next we have shoes – first of all I LOVE stars so these starry heels had to feature!

IMG_2106

But I love this retro vibe even more Sophia Webster (£395!)!

IMG_2092

Finally some sensible flats?

IMG_2120

Accessories are a must and this Miss Kurt Geiger (£45) clutch is so pretty.

IMG_2090

A little bee encrusted collar to liven up simple LBD by Marc Cain (£39)?

IMG_2121

And of course more stars..these are so cute and at that price I will be getting a few and layering them together!

IMG_2096

One statement earring is a great idea – of course the safety pin is my favourite but you can’t beat Claire’s Accessories for price!!

IMG_2107

Then a bit of festive makeup starting with Chanel’s Camelia Des Plumes Highlighting Powder (£47) and followed by a beautiful Givenchy Palette.

IMG_2112

IMG_2241

And finally the perfect post-festive hangover cure

Magazine Inspiration Board – October

So November magazines are of course well into the winter clothes, skincare and makeup. For me this month was all about the cape. Of course the monogrammed Burberry cape has been seen everywhere but for mere mortals I was really taken with this one from Jigsaw. For an alternative to the cape I loved this gently draping coat from Asos too.

IMG_1738

IMG_1748

On to dresses – I still love a good printed dress, but in winter the appeal of a knitted dress is up there!

IMG_1756

IMG_1746

Finally for clothing I love this look from Wallis – simple, elegant and warm!

IMG_1752

I spotted this necklace from Dower & Hall and just loved the simplicity of the two stones.

IMG_1743

Onto skincare which by now is changing to suit the colder, drier weather and this Peeling Night Lotion from L’Oreal has been featured in a few magazines. I have to admit to already be using it – post coming soon!!

IMG_1739

I love Una Brennan’s products and am keen to try this Rose night cream – anything rose at night is a winner for me!

IMG_1753

Finally for skincare – love these multi-tasking tips – genius!!

IMG_1754

For makeup two things caught my eye – lipstick of course from Charlotte Tilbury – her new Modern-Matte lipsticks are meant to be amazing.. And then this little blusher from Burberry just looked so easy and fresh.

Magazine Inspiration Board – September

The October issues were absolutely brimming with amazing clothes, skincare and makeup so this is going to be quite a long post – be warned!

I won’t ramble on too much but let’s start with clothes! There were loads of great Autumn skirts, shorts (yes so pretty from H&M), dresses and of course coats and boots to choose from here are my favourites.

If I didn’t already have a couple of over the knee boots for this winter (see here and here) I would definitely be on the lookout.

IMG_1484

A couple of new collections also caught my eye – both H&M. The first is a new collaboration from H&M (below).

IMG_1451

The second is this image from the Dries Van Norten A/W 2014 collection. I love the fuchsia print material and then found this dress and skirt in H&M  which are so similar and  I love them!

IMG_1474

A couple of accessories. Love the safety pin brooch from Sonia Rykiel £44.

IMG_1464

IMG_1460

Next some skincare. I am especially into the serum in oil idea and have tried a two of the ones featured – the Sanctuary Spa and Sarah Chapman. Am also very keen to try an EE cream!

IMG_1455

IMG_1469

So on to makeup, two L’Oreal and one from Rimmel. I need a new brow tamer and this one looks perfect. I absolutely love nude nail polishes in Autumn and will definitely be giving these 2-step ones a try! The new Rimmel mascara also sounds lovely – argon oil is definitely a huge trend.

And last but not least a hair thing! I saw this and thought it was such a lovely idea and will definitely be giving this a go – a scarf plaited into your hair!

Magazine Inspiration Board – August

Well August is the September Issue month so magazines are huge and packed full of stuff. However this also means that summer is almost gone and the magazines are well and truly gearing up for the cooler months ahead… This is quite depressing but I have embraced the promise of cooler days to mean a change in my fashion tastes.

Starting with clothes I spotted these gorgeous offerings and yes they do mostly seem a bit dark and gothic but come the dark days of November they will look amazing! I am especially in love with the Warehouse dress (second picture below) that looks super expensive but is only £55!

IMG_0759

IMG_0904

IMG_0756

I had to include a couple of coats especially the furry one from Whistle which I think is £250 (ouch)?

IMG_0758

IMG_0915

Next I have spotted a few hair products that I really liked, one of which I have already posted about here (Sunkiss Jelly). The other is an “ionic brush” that claims to reduce frizz – I am actually thinking of getting this for my daughter who has a lot of long thick hair that is regularly like a birds nest! Finally some new Bumble and Bumble products that sounds right up my street!

IMG_0754

IMG_0753

IMG_0901

Finally of course there had to be some makeup/skincare. I am definitely interested to try the new Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain, but I have to admit I am maybe more tempted by the new Dior lip balms. I have already got a hefty collection of the L’Oreal Color Riche eyeshadows. They come in a range of finishes (matte, lumiere, nude, smoky and chameleon) and are an absolute dream to apply. I am also rather intrigued by the crazy wand shape of this Lancome mascara and the super cool reason of why it is shaped that way!

IMG_0903

And for skincare I love this idea of using a balm cleanser with my Clarisonic – must try this!

Magazine Inspiration Board – July

I cant believe its already July and time for my new regular monthly Magazine Inspiration Board post (see May and June here).

This month magazines have been full of summer and autumn fashion and beauty. I always think it is so odd that whilst its hot and lovely magazines are already talking about the colder weather! Even so I have managed to find quite a few things that have inspired or tempted me!

I am going to start with some summer beauty inspiration. First is something I am already using and will post on soon – the Facefinity Primer by Maxfactor – its brilliant so had to include it!

IMG_0503

Next are two essentials for glowing summer skin. I am especially tempted by the Lancome Star Bronzer – it just looks stunning!

IMG_0512

IMG_0513

My hair always goes so frizzy in the summer, especially when I go on holiday to places like Malaysia so this looked like a great solution from Aveda.

IMG_0507

Next some fashion – I adore this skirt from Asos plus it would work into autumn and winter too!

IMG_0506

I thought this skirt from Cos was such a pretty pastel blue and I love the unusual shape.

IMG_0511

These shoes from LK Bennett are to die for but sadly the price isn’t !

IMG_0509

Lastly some bling! As you know I am obsessed with Monica Vinader and here are some more tempting options to add to my collection!

IMG_0510

IMG_0504

And finally this necklace is so cute (plus the bag is gorgeous too!).

Magazine Inspiration Board – June

This month’s inspiration from magazines is  mainly focused on festival fashion with a few extra bits thrown in! First up are festival related images. I am going to the Isle of Wight festival (in fact I am there now!) so that’s probably why I was drawn to some of these. I really love boho tops and dresses and this one from Mango caught my eye. This is can also be beach wear which is quite handy! IMG_9967 I love hats and a trilby is a cute option for festivals. IMG_9980 Sunglasses are of course an essential piece of festival gear and I am really loving this perspex trend. IMG_9972 Of course a bit festival bling is always a good thing. I am so in love with all things Monica Vinader (post coming soon). IMG_9971 Finally for some festival makeup inspiration I was drawn to this page which showed you how to recreate the Chanel runway glitter eye liner. I remember when I first saw this I absolutely loved it but never thought I would have an opportunity to actually wear it. Well I am going to give it a go and have got myself some of that Topshop glitter and some facial glue! IMG_9976 Next for a little beach wear this kaftan looked like the perfect poolside accesory! IMG_9979 I think body mists are a great option when you are on the beach and I am definitely getting this Body Shop Shea Body Mist as I have smelt it and its so nutty and warm – holiday in a bottle! IMG_9965 Next up I spotted a couple of more elegant pieces that I am lusting after. First is the is Baia Bag. These are handmade in the UK and can can customised to your own colour scheme – genius! The Slouch Bag is on my wish list! I also love the dusky pink belt from Asos which would go perfectly with summer dresses. IMG_9974 Below is a cape from COS – who doesn’t need a cape in their lives?! IMG_9977 And finally to finish with a some home stuff – absolutely LOVE Tesco’s new pastel range – I have a few items and they are so gorgeous and very reasonably priced!   IMG_9968 And is there anything more perfect for the summer BBQ season than an old fashioned trolley – love this one from Ikea!   IMG_9978

Magazine Inspiration Board – May

I LOVE fashion magazines and subscribe to quite a few. Every month I devour each page looking for inspiration on fashion, beauty and home and even gardens. So I thought I would start a new regular post that featured all the things that inspired me each month. Obviously magazines are always a month ahead but I will do it in the month that I receive them to make sure that you can look out for anything that may inspire you too!!

First are some gorgeous summer sandals – sliders are the new thing for the summer and I spotted these from New Look and River Island. I am definitely going to keep my eyes open for the New Look leopard print ones – they are perfect! IMG_9455 IMG_9467 Of course I had to include the Birkenstock Arizona – here is my post on it! IMG_9594 I love the see through blue bangle from Topshop – will be perfect for the beach! IMG_9544 Next I spotted this lovely lace dress from Zara – love the layered skirt effect. IMG_9459 I also really liked the look of this animal print jumpsuit from Matalan. Very chic and the price is amazing! IMG_9462   I love the look of this collection by Vika Gazinskaya for & Other Stories and will be looking out for that spotted dress when the collection launches on 15th May.IMG_9590

Finally a few beauty things. I need this Prodigieux perfume from Nuxe. I hear it smells just like their oils which would make it scent heaven to me! IMG_9469

Having recently done a post about cleansing powders I was pleased to see I mentioned quite a few of these products! IMG_9543I am in a bit of a pink mood and these two products caught my eye. The Nars Illuminator looks so pretty

IMG_9585 IMG_9596  As I am going to the Isle of Wight festival next month this is definitely a product I am keen to try!

IMG_9589Finally I just absolutely loved this makeup look – the coloured eyelashes teamed with a small centre of colour just looks amazing! I have been experimenting to recreate this look and was quite pleased with the results! IMG_9465IMG_9508IMG_9511IMG_9513
