The Mascara with the Crazy Name

Yes you guessed it this post is about Too Faced‘s Better Than Sex Mascara! I mean really what a name! OK now does it live up to its name???

I picked mine up from Debenhams and its was originally £19 but I got 10% off so it was £17.10. So not exactly cheap but neither is it too expensive.

The packaging is quite nice and the brush is large and very fluffy!

In the picture below you can see the right eye has got the mascara on compared with nothing on the left eye.

Its quite a difference, the lashes are long and curled and separated. It definitely has an impact. The formula is quite wet and brush is quite large, so you do have to be careful when applying this or it ends up all over your eyelids!

I do like this mascara, however its not the best I’ve tried.  So pretty good but not one I would rush out to re-purchase.

Summer Face by YSL

I am getting slightly obsessed with finding the perfect BB cream. I have been using my Sleek BB cream for a while now and still really like it but it is definitely too heavy for the summer. I also tried out the Bourjois BB Bronzing Cream but its quite sheer and doesn’t really give me the cover I was after.

Essentially I was looking for something light and wearable when the sun is out and heat is on! So I popped into Debenhams and tried the Dior and Clarins BB creams but they were both much too light for me. As I have been enjoying the sunshine my skin is even darker than normal so I needed something that would keep me going through the summer.

The lovely lady helping me in Debenhams suggested the YSL All-In-One BB Cream Skintone Perfector in Dark (£38.00).

As you can see from the picture above it is quite a dark shade so I was convinced it wouldn’t suit me. However once blended in it gave my skin a bronzed perfected look (see below). Like the healthy glow after a holiday!

The consistency is light unlike the Sleek BB Cream which is quite thick. This is almost like something between a foundation and a serum. I think this gives a light to medium cover which is perfect for those hot summer days. It says that you can wear this under foundation almost as a primer although I haven’t tried that. I also like the fact that it has SPF 25 which means I don’t have to worry about suncream most days.

I have to say I am really loving this cream and can tell the difference in my skin tone. I love the look it gives me and is certainly going to be a summer favourite.

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense

I went into Debenhams the other day and spotted the new Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Lip Colours. I love the original chubby sticks so was keen to try these out. I went for two colours – Mightiest Maraschino (below right) and Roomiest Rose (left) both £16.

In the picture below I am wearing Mightiest Maraschino which is quite an intense red. The colour is definitely much stronger than the original chubby sticks which were almost sheer. Although these are intense they are still quite creamy and moisturising.

In the picture below I am wearing Roomiest Rose, which is quite plummy and rosy at the same time. I think this is more wearable for daytime.

Very happy with both these colours and am looking forward to trying the new Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes…so watch this space!!
